GREETERS OR MINISTERS OF HOSPITALITY

ÒS

unday liturgy is a celebration and we are the Lord's guests. That is why I began greeting over 7 years ago. Offering a smile and a word of welcome can have a profound impact on people as they arrive, especially if they are new or visitors to the parish. It is an aid to entering into the spirit of celebration at Mass. A warm welcome reflects the love of God for them and helps those entering to feel more at ease and helps the spirit of community.
Being a greeter requires very little work. All that is needed is a warm, genuine smile and a friendly welcoming manner. Try it, you'll like it.Ó Virginia Brenneman

ÒI've been a greeter for two years and it's a great way to welcome people into our community and meet new friends. If saying a simple "Good morning" can bring a smile to someone's face, I feel I've done my job.Ó Sue Zelsdorf

Twenty minutes before Mass, my family and I would be ready to say good morning and pass out song sheets for the Mass. We soon began to recognize parishioners and feel a part of the community.
